I am Thomson from Lusaka, Zambia, a Medical Doctor, – about to begin my Junior Residency. A good friend of mine taught me how to play chess at the age of 13 and I was very fascinated by the game. Over the years I played irregularly not until 2020 due to Covid-19 lockdowns when I was introduced to Lichess. Since then, aside from music and reading books, chess has been a favorite hobby. I have since gained about 800 points in blitz and currently, I am a comfortable 2000 player.

Smiling Pawn Community has been helpful in the advancement. I competed in a tournament organized by Smiling Pawn on New Year, 2022, and I came out third. I was awarded a chess course, for which am grateful and hopefully I’ll soon advance in my play.
