My name is David Mumba Kaniki from Lusaka, Zambia. I am currently in my 3rd year studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Zambia. My passion is learning theories presented in theoretical physics.

In 2020, due to lockdown, I ventured into chess and was intrigued by how there’s always more to what one can deem as the best move in, at least to the player, a complicated position. This, combined with my realized dream of playing for the University team has propelled my development in chess for the past few months.

The quest to be a competent player has led me to Smiling Pawn where tournaments held in it have challenged me to push further my understanding of the game.
